Kunshan Customs held a policybriefing on paperless customs clearance (PCC)onDec.12 in an effort tostepup thepilot reformofPCC.During the initialperiod of implementation, only one company was involved in the pilot program,whilecurrently, over 50 companies havebeen included in it.With thepracticeof PCC further promoted andmorewidely applied, printed-out customs declaration documents are expected to fadeout.
The current customs procedurerequests a company to submitprinted-out declaration sheet and suchpaper attachments as contract, invoice, bill of lading, supervisioncertificates, etc. to the customs office.Atpresent, about 12 pieces ofpaper documents are attached toeach shipment of goods.After theimplementation ofPCC, the company canmake declaration via digitaldata and complete thewholeprocessofdeclaration and clearancewithouthaving togo to the customsoffice tosubmit paper documents, whichwill significantly reduce theHR andtime cost spent on traveling between customs and warehouse.Meanwhile, the customs will beable tomake comprehensive analysisof the digitaldata by computer system so as to improve the effect ofrisk analysis and enhance the efficiencyofsupervision.
